Snow. It seems that most people either love it or hate it. I love it! This week I had the opportunity to really look at snow and I wanted to share my pictures with you.
Snow requires two things, freezing temperatures and moisture. Within a cloud, a bit of moisture forms a crystal around a tiny particle in the air. As it bounces around the cloud, more ice crystals form and eventually it becomes heavy enough to fall to the ground as a snowflake.
I wanted to get a close up look at a snowflake after a beautiful snowfall this week. I have this cool little gadget that attaches to my phone. It works as a digital microscope so you can view small things up close. I had to find a way to keep the snowflakes cold once I caught them. I eventually found a great solution. I put a ceramic black plate in my freezer and it worked!
It was a little difficult to do alone, so my son helped. Once I got the hang of it, I couldn’t stop. It’s amazing! Nature is amazing!
